About Me

My photo
Hey everbody.. My name is Katie, i'm a senior at Edgar High and i am 17 yrs old. I only have one brother, and i can't even consider him a brother. I don't have any pets, but i do have the neighbors dog! I believe that the fact that i am adopted has shaped my life. If i wasn't adopted by my parents, i wouldn't be who i am today. I thank my parents for that. My mom is always there for me when i need her, sure she can be a mom, but she is always there as a friend too. Me and my parents are very close, and i think that is the way it will always stay. To me psycology is important because it is all over the place! It is one of those things that you will never be able to run away from. So everybody just has to lean back and accept it. The definition of psycology to me would have to be... The reasons why things happen and how they happen. The reasons we make the choices we do, why people are depressed, why some people are hyper, and why we act the way we act on a daily basis.

What Is The Importance Of Research?

Research is very important, all the time! If you were doing your homework and you didn't know the answer? Would you just fill in the blank with something stupid? Or would you actually take the time and look through the book, or go online and try to figure it out? Think about it. We use research all the time. It is very important because we need to get the facts straight about stuff before we can actually say that we know about it. You don't get an A in a class by not researching. Its extremely important. *One example of research would be on that psyblog website. Where they are talking about slouching. They don't just come up with something like that and make up a whole bunch of crap about it. They research and do polls and surveys to get the information. The slouching one is very related to my life because i slouch all the time, at school, even right now. And learning about it and realizing that it makes me look like a slob makes you think a little more. I did research and learned allot about slouching, research and you can find out about a slug. Its good, and its important, it helps you in every day situations. *One thing i learned in this article was that slouching lowers your self esteem and lowers your confidence level. Also that slouching, even though it may be comfortable, it hurts your back in the long run. One more thing i learned, slouching makes you think negative about yourself and really makes you feel no good. Whereas if you were sitting up straight you would feel better about yourself. All of these are important. Maybe one day i will listen to this advice and stop slouching.

  1. Katie-
I think it's good that you realized that you need to stop slouching in order to stop looking like a slob. haha that part made me laugh. I also read this article and I think it's really interesting because I never realized how something that you never think about (slouching) can affect you quite a bit. I mean it's really weird that it can affect your self estime considering the two don't even seem remotely related! I guess you learn something new everyday.
