About Me

My photo
Hey everbody.. My name is Katie, i'm a senior at Edgar High and i am 17 yrs old. I only have one brother, and i can't even consider him a brother. I don't have any pets, but i do have the neighbors dog! I believe that the fact that i am adopted has shaped my life. If i wasn't adopted by my parents, i wouldn't be who i am today. I thank my parents for that. My mom is always there for me when i need her, sure she can be a mom, but she is always there as a friend too. Me and my parents are very close, and i think that is the way it will always stay. To me psycology is important because it is all over the place! It is one of those things that you will never be able to run away from. So everybody just has to lean back and accept it. The definition of psycology to me would have to be... The reasons why things happen and how they happen. The reasons we make the choices we do, why people are depressed, why some people are hyper, and why we act the way we act on a daily basis.

Sit Up Straight! Be Confident!

Picture I Got Off The Blog
Looks like me! Haha.

Wow, this artical i read was totally the truth. Well i think so anyway. Sure, slouching does make you look very sloppy and make you look like your not paying attention, but i slouch all the time, i still pay attention! Of course like this artical says, that cool kids didn't want to seem like they want to make an effort to pay attention, but you know, i don't know too many people that sit up straight in a perfect posture all the time, it gets very uncomfortable, unless your like the queen of England and have to do it! Even in the bottom of this it says that sitting up straight can hurt your back, and it is proven too! So i disagree with this blog when it says that geeks that pay attention don't slouch, because everybody does. But i do agree with the fact that it can make you feel better about yourself. And of course i agree that it makes you look like your paying attention. But i'm sure if half the kids that used to slouch, started not to now, teachers would think that the kid is hiding something, or something cool like that. Anyway - Great artical! Read it! - http://www.spring.org.uk/2009/09/sit-up-straight-be-confident.php#more-7397

  1. I love the comment about kids hiding something if they don't slouch, but it's so true!! We're all so used to seeing and doing it that it would be weird NOT to.

  2. Well everyone keeps talking about this article so I just had to read it! Wow, it really surprise me how slouching almost characterizes a person. Although yes, most people (especially those in high school) slouch all the time now. I try not to slouch too much, but after a long time of sitting up straight I simply get tired. I do tend to agree that a lot of geeks that pay attention sit up straight... but not all the time. Anyways, very interesting article.
