About Me

My photo
Hey everbody.. My name is Katie, i'm a senior at Edgar High and i am 17 yrs old. I only have one brother, and i can't even consider him a brother. I don't have any pets, but i do have the neighbors dog! I believe that the fact that i am adopted has shaped my life. If i wasn't adopted by my parents, i wouldn't be who i am today. I thank my parents for that. My mom is always there for me when i need her, sure she can be a mom, but she is always there as a friend too. Me and my parents are very close, and i think that is the way it will always stay. To me psycology is important because it is all over the place! It is one of those things that you will never be able to run away from. So everybody just has to lean back and accept it. The definition of psycology to me would have to be... The reasons why things happen and how they happen. The reasons we make the choices we do, why people are depressed, why some people are hyper, and why we act the way we act on a daily basis.

Prologue ?'s and Answers

Here are my Q's and A's for the prologue.
Q : Does it have to do with psycology that we have routines like; making our bed in the morning or doing the dishes after dinner?
A: I believe that it just has to do with what we were taught when we were younger, like it worked for our ancestors, so it will work for us too. That type of thing, not because we do it to do it, it's not like it's fun anyway.

Q: Who is your favorite psycologist; just by what you read in ch 1 and the prologue?
A: William James; because, he was kind of a sick man, he suffered from depression and got sick often, but still had the guts to keep up with what he really wanted to do in life.

Q: When you picture a psycologist, what do you see? A lab jacket and a rat?
A: I see somebody in a really calm colored room sitting in a big comfortable chair waiting to give advice when you think you are all depressed.

Q: Where do you think there would be more psycological problems? In the north? Or down in the core of New Mexico?
A: I think there would be more down in NM. Because there is so many issues that go on down in the south with gangs, killings, robberies, drugs & all the stuff like that. And up here there isn't so many problems, so more people would be more likely to be needing help with their emotions.

Q: What is so huge about the nature-nurture issue?
A: I think it is important to know about this because it is good to know weather you are the way you are because of how you were raised by your parents and the way you were nurtured, but also it's important because it could have to do with nature and the environment that you are in.
